The Gaming Giant Recruits Apex Legends Developer to Revitalize Struggling Hero Shooter Project Ethos
2K Games has welcomed a seasoned producer from Respawn Entertainment to lead the development team at their internal studio, which is currently developing the upcoming over-the-shoulder action-packed title known as Project Ethos.
Leadership Shift Follows Mixed Reception
The new appointee assumes the role of studio head at the development studio following the dismissal of previous head Michael Condrey, who was removed from his post due to the game's disappointing unveiling last autumn.
On Wednesday, the company's top executive a key figure notified employees about this strategic move through an internal memo, which stressed that early feedback sessions had shown the need for a more defined direction.
Ismailer stated that the developers is now overhauling Project Ethos with a renewed approach, aiming to satisfy gamer demands.
Trend of Strategic Recruitment
The news mirrors a comparable action taken by 2K Games in August, when they hired an industry veteran from Blizzard to work on the BioShock development group.

The appointee presently serves in the position of executive producer and head of production at Respawn Entertainment for their flagship title. Brinkman earlier was employed at Treyarch and Activision in diverse development positions on the Call of Duty games, and, before that, had assignments at other industry leaders.

The upcoming game was revealed in October 2024 alongside a community playtest. Then, the developers presented the title as a "no-cost, third-person perspective roguelike hero shooter and an exciting advancement on the style."
