Approximately 50 automobiles have been covered with what appears to be human bodily fluid in the German city of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, according to police.
Vehicles, exterior walls and postboxes were vandalized, occasionally with Nazi symbols, they reported in a official communication.
Officers state they were alerted during the night on Wednesday, when a individual noticed that a car in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been covered with a reddish fluid.
The liquid had been placed in the pattern of a banned symbol, they reported.
Officers then found many other smeared vehicles and house walls in the adjacent neighborhood.
Nazi symbols are prohibited in Germany under legislation prohibiting the public exhibition of Nazi symbols.
Officials state preliminary tests suggest the substance was likely human bodily fluid.
"There is still no lead as to its origin; officials are presently not informed of any injuries in relation with the incident," they commented.
City officials announced they were trying "to solve the case" and have requested to the residents for tips.
An important political figure said the incident left him without words and required to be resolved promptly.
"This incident strikes at the center of Hanau and revives the trauma of the right-wing terrorist attack five years ago," he stated on a platform, referring to the murder of nine victims by a shooter focusing on individuals of foreign heritage in five years prior.
